If you're new to this website, we'd like to say hello. We're don't want thousands of construction trucks running through our little residential streets. For a quick 'potted' history, click on "THE SHORT STORY" above, or click here.

COFA's latest truck route plan: bad news for everyone

Dear fellow residents,

The new Construction Traffic Management Plan has now been released by UNSW/COFA and was posted on the COFA website on 8 February 2010.

Take a look and check all the details as a quick review reveals that it affects nearly ALL residents in the area. Major points are as follows:

• Truck movements on residential streets between 7.30am and 5.30pm on weekdays and 7.30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays (longer trucking hours than previously proposed)

• Trucks will enter from Moore Park Road and Oxford streets, so ALL Greens Rd residences are now affected

• Stage 1 Demolition- uses Albion Ave and Selwyn St, turning the one-way Albion Ave into a two-way truck route (two-way for COFA trucks only, not us)

• Stage 2 Excavation- uses closed section of Napier St (what does that mean?) and Albion Ave and Selwyn St when trucks are too big or access difficult!

• Stage 3 Construction – uses crane in Greens Rd, as well as Albion Ave and Selwyn St for loads crane can’t handle.

• Greens Rd and Albion Ave roundabout and the landscaped traffic islands to be modified/removed to allow room for trucks to turn in and out.

• Removal of parking spaces in Selwyn, Albion and Napier St for turning and waiting trucks.
